The Doukhobor Village
Museum will introduce you to Doukhobor culture and their unique lifestyle as it evolved in
the Kootenay region of British Columbia from 1908 to 1938.
Here, you can learn about the origin of the Doukhobor
people as you stroll through the spacious grounds containing heritage plants under the benign gaze of a distinctive statue of
Leo Tolstoy, one of two in North America, sympathizer and benefactor of the Doukhobors.
Books, Doukhobor craft
items, music and films are available for purchase in the Village Art Gallery, which also features art displays by Doukhobor
artists.
The Doukhobor Village Museum is located across from the Airport in Castlegar and is open 10 -6 daily from May
1 to September 30. [Last tour 5:30]

The center is located at the Doukhobor Village Museum. Hours are 10 AM to
PM Sundays and Thursdays in June, Wednesday to Sunday July and August.
